RPG with AI — Beyond The Verge

A practical introduction to persistent narrative role-playing with AI.

What happens after your sentence

The player describes an intent in ordinary language. The server relates it to the current scene, checks available actions, and resolves a structured result. Only after an atomic commit does AI turn the event into narrative prose.

Confirmed consequences enter history, memory, the map, or companion relationships with provenance to a specific event. This distinguishes a persistent RPG campaign from a standalone chat that can continue prose but does not own world rules.

Boundary and failure behavior

Free input does not mean every action is possible: rules can reject an attempt, and an ambiguous intent may require clarification.
