A genre is an interaction profile

A Genre Kit sets scene expectations: which conflicts, pacing, emotional stakes, and resolution styles receive emphasis. It is not merely a visual theme and does not replace server rules. Mystery, romance, or horror guide narration differently while keeping the same confirmed-state model.

A setting answers where the story happens; a Genre Kit answers what kind of experience choices create. A cyberpunk setting can support a mystery, thriller, or drama without inventing a separate rules authority.

Boundary and failure behavior

The profile changes emphasis but cannot guarantee a particular scene or allow AI to rewrite campaign facts.

Romantasy

Fantasy
